Hi all due to some debates had in Mallorca and in training ect the concensus was to give the lessons more structure.
Therefore i have developed a plan that can be applied to all lessons but enables something different to be done each time. I have tryed to make it flow and be varied to keep interest but also to help people improve quickly. It should lead to coherent and focused learing with clear objectives for the future. However it could also be shite! so let me know what you think. Good? Bad? needs a little modification? should be scarped all together? should only be done once a week? hate the idea? love the idea? the more fedback the better.
Standard lesson structure
For 2 hour session

• The usual mixed warm up
Basic drills – 20 mins
• Punching in the air sets 1 – 8 + turning punches
• Sets of ten punch and block for biu, tan, low gann, cup, jum
• Open - punching with stepping
• Then do punching on the pads sets 1 – 8 + turning punches,
• Set of 15, bursts of punches then 50 punches (alternate lessons do palm strikes)
• Then do punch blocks on the pads
• Then do kicking drills – front kick then front to side then bridging front kick on pads where possible
Grading syllabus stuff – 15 mins (blend with other sections if more time is needed)

Chi Sau – 25 mins
• NO one is to use strength!!! This is the clubs biggest weakness in Chi sau and is due to student’s natural competitive nature, remember if you don’t get hit you won’t learn.
• Everyone works on chi sau or dan chi sau depending on level
• Drills of one attack one defend then swap over
• Ensure lots of partner changes
• Do break away chi sau
End session – 5 mins
• Quick warm down – alternatively we could do some exercises to knacker everyone out?
• Thank Sifu
• Make announcements
• Sort out admin stuff etc
