i find it pretty interesting too,
Sifu did some on me when i fractured my right thumb and sprained my left wrist and it was very weird but it defiantly did something to help.
ask him next time and he will show u some stuff.
he has shown me a couple of healing and attacking points and although he can numb your whole arm with the healing points the aggressive ones to the chest are hard to hit and although hurt alot, so would getting punched in the face so im not sure how useful they are?
its interesting coz there is defiantly something in it but im not sure how much.
any feedback from anyone else on this?
Dan

I think theres definitely something in it. I've been raiki'd (or however you spell it) before now, and it definitely works. Not sure how, but I'd be interested in learning...

Just ask sifu to demonstrate his iron palm on you; and then to make it all better afterwards.
Although I think your right that a punch to the face is a lot easier Dan; pressure points can be useful in stopping aggressors with less lethal means. For instance if your brother is being annoying use some of the finger strike pressure points to quiet them down...

Good call Ad ill remember that next time my brother is being annoying.
I still wanna know what would happen if i did a finger strike to the exact right point full power coz it hurts a fair bit when its not full power. I think im gonna up my finger strike training to be able to drop someone with that strike, but only coz it would look cool, obviously a turning punch would be easier.
Also Sifu said he would show us some of the acupressure point in Majorca so we can show people when we get back.

yea it would be really great if you could show the rest of us some of the things u learn in Majorca when u get back! ;D i'm SO jealous of you guys! i wish i could go but not much point complaining about it i suppose learning more about pressure points and stuff could also be really helpful i think, they seem to be pretty effective in giving you the upper hand in avoiding a fist fight :s on a random note i heard something the other day about a skilled martial artist who specialises in tendon rupturing or something like that... all i can say is YEESCHK!

ye theres a way to rupture the tendon in the upper arm when doing the standard takedown actually. I remember i think sifu showing us... actually it was probably crazy terry... dont think youv all had teh pelasure of having terry demonstrate you a move. doesnt seem to come any more which is a shame/relief

yeah rotate the blade of the forearm across the back of their upper arm musscles towards the person as you put on the arm bar, and if u do it with force you can rip the tendons rendering their arm useless.
