...As Opposed to that other thread with those...'quotes'...?
Anyways as requested by Dan a fresh thread for REAL wing chun quotes/sayings/proverbs/maxims...
"Is it true that this style originated 400 years? ago after a nun saw a couple of pigeons fighting over a chicken wing?" - LoL
And to go one better i think in this thread i'll ask you, the readers to add in not only your wing chun quotes, but quotes for martial arts/training in general. And if we could keep it some what on track that'd be a bonus...
To start off i'll add some of mine
"No road is as long or filled with as many obstacles as the one travelled by the Chinese Boxer. Few attempt to take it . Those that reach it’s end are even fewer."
"Wing Chun Is A Good Horse That Few Can Ride"
"If you want to understand the truth in Wing Chun you must throw away the notion of styles prejudices etc Then your mind will cease all conflict In this silence you will see totally & freshly"
"Hand Against Hand, Foot Against Foot, There Is No Unstoppable Technique" - Wing Chun Maxim
"A goal implies an ending of a destination. Wing Chun is a journey of learning, and it never ends"
"You don't want them to see the power, You want them to only feel it"
"When You Re-Direct An Opponents Energy, You Force Them To Change So In Essence They Defeat Themselves"
"When your hand meets my hand, your hand is already my hand"
"Maximum Anguish With Minimum Movement"
"Tension inhibits speed, tension betrays intention"
"Even the highest towers begin from the ground"
"You cannot make a weed grow by pulling it" - Master Ip Chun
"I'd rather know it and not need it, then need it and not know it"
"The man who strikes first admits he has run out of ideas"
"Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards."
"Fear is your best friend or your worst enemy. It’s like fire. If you can control it, it can cook for you; it can heat your house. If you can’t control it, it will burn everything around you and destroy you." - Cus D’Amato (1908-1985),
"Any growing thing that loses its roots withers."
I'll post more if anyones that interested
