I know this is WELL random but i was just wondering what are people's favourite martial arts films? Gawd only knows there's a hell of a lot of brilliant films to choose from! But there's also a lot of iffy stuff out there too

oh yea enter the dragon's pretty good i'd probably go for either warrior or hero, very much impressed by the spear fighting! yea i suppose wing chun is a bit too subtle and straightforward for films, probably doesn't look as impressive as flashy over the top moves

Definitely hero for fighting with weapons, and ong bak for fist fighting. watching ong bak youve gotta feel for the bad guys, watching them take one of tony jaa's brutal kicks lol ;D

watch 'ong bak 2' its actually called 'warrior king' or something i think ('tom yum goong' in thai); its gonna be released in uk soonish. Its not a sequel to ong bak, just tony jaa's next film - its ong bak on crack, you'll be blown awaaaaaaay
...in terms of action, however the plot and acting blows.

i think we've learnt by now that (in general) as far as martial arts films go the plot doesn't tend to be that great whereas the actual skill of the martial arts will knock your socks off! i'll definitely keep that in mind, methinks i'm gonna go searching for ong back 2 on amazon, hurray for amazon and all it's lovely cheapness! yay!

"Tom Yum Goong" is going to be called "Spirit Of Kings" over here I believe.
My fave martial arts films are Hero, and Young Master, without a doubt.

Jackie Chan's Kung Fu brother joins a rival school and does their dragon dance for them, then gets involved in releasing a wanted criminal, and the police think it was Jackie Chan, so Jackie has to rescue his brother and catch the criminal guy. It's a wicked film, if only for the flying headbutt at the end.
